The Ecological Wall
We were employed as the project management company for this engineering project.
The brief was to increase the garden platform so that the maximum area of the garden could be gained from what was a natural slope from the existing area down to the road.
The necessary soil tests were undertaken and then engineer was employed to produce a design for wall and platform.
Due to the results of the soil survey areas of the wall had reinforced concrete slabs to include piles and ground anchors prior to starting the forming the ecological wall.
It was also necessary to form permanent protection with micropiles, ringbeams and anchors to both the swimming pool and the corner of the main property.
The ecological wall is 160 metres long and 16 meters high at the highest point.
It was essential during the process to ensure all the necessary compaction testing was undertaken to ensure it complied with the quality control process.
The wall has been planted and now has both maturing trees and plants growing to the face of the wall.
Whilst constructing the platform the Chiringuito / Entertainment / Bar area was also formed to create shade in the heat of the summer.
